Made a sign as a surprise for my daughter’s wedding. It was by the door welcoming all her guests to the wedding. All the rocks in the base were hand picked by my wife Cindy on the beaches in Ontonagon Michigan. And then I also made bench for the first time in many years in memory of my mother in law Cheryl. Nobody knew about the bench, and was a total surprise to my wife Cindy when she saw it sitting at the venue this weekend. Once in awhile you have to make some projects for yourself, and both turned out great.

Installed this sign on this day in 2010. 15’ wide and 4’ tall. 2-1/2” thick.

Sign I made for a store over on Washington island this summer. They finally got it up. Looks awesome! The background on the main sign was routed out leaving the lettering raised. The bottom two signs are vinyl lettering in case they want to change any of the products they sell. The posts at 5-3/4 solid white cedar square posts. The base is also all out of white cedar. Lots of time spent on this project.

Little before and after pictures with this job. This sign was in major need of repair and repainting. I fixed the cracks and defects and completely sanded it down and started over. Stopped tonight and hung it back up. Looks awesome again.

This summer has been crazy busy. Here’s another completed project. I fabricated 4 new county signs by hand and they were picked up last week, be on the watch out for when they are installed.
2 for Robert Lasalle county park, and one each for Murphy park and the Ridges.
All of these signs are 4’ tall and 6’ wide. Made from solid 1-3/4” local white cedar. Just the routing alone took me over 14 hours. I’ve made a lot of these over the years, but this was the first time making 4 at the same time. Once they are installed, I’ll share those pictures as well.

Had a customer come to me with a couple things they needed me to look at for them. I ended up repainting their sign, the post for the sign and also repainted and leveled their mailbox today. Also installed their new mailbox too. Everything looks like new now.
