Spray foam. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Especially if installed incorrectly. It can have vicious off gassing and can be difficult to deal with when remodeling. Use rigid board insulation instead.

Well, here it is. Nice to feel vindicated. As a residential designer I have always used the "pretty good home" approach because I somehow have to make the home pretty and proportional while sticking to the budget and making it buildable, and maintenance easy.

Industrially made products tend to work pretty well. Part of the reason for that is the process that creates them.

Still the best way to build your home in my opinion. Easy, energy efficient and tornado proof.

Take a look at these 10' tall ceilings in a new basement in Greenleaf, WI. This was erected and poured by a crew assembled by the homeowner himself.

Here is a newly designed small home for a tiny building location with stringent zoning requirements. There is a high probability that it won't get built which is always a bummer. You pour your creativity and expertise into something you know won't happen. It's a job I guess.....lol
