Cant miss me now! Although I do love pink, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and brought my vision to life! One month isn’t enough so I decided to make a statement that will last. My team will be spreading awareness all across the North Fork. From rocking pink shirts, towing pink trailers and spray rigs, we will now have our company truck making the message loud and clear.
About 13 years ago my mother pulled my sister Morgan and I aside to explain how the next few months would go. Just out of high school, I understood the seriousness of the situation and knew we needed to stay strong for mom. Lauren my youngest sister was only 5 at the time so we would need to help with her. I remember my parents traveling back and forth to the city as my mom got treatments. Things were scary at first and we all shed some tears but as a family we got through it. Thankfully Mom kicked some serious cancer ass and has been cancer free ever since.
Unfortunately, my mother is not the only one in our family to be effected by this relentless disease. As the truck now reads “In Honor of Family and Friends”, we want you to know how much we love you and will always be there to fight alongside of you.
Some might question why a pink truck and that’s exactly the point. If we could help more people remember and become aware of how common this cancer is then maybe we can save lives. If someone goes home thinking about the breast cancer truck they just saw that day and decides to do a self exam just in case, then my job is done. This is the point of awareness. This is how you can save a life. I’ll do anything for my family
