Please join us in welcoming Owen O’Keefe, our Summer Intern at Gilbert + Lee Construction. 👷🏼‍♂️

Owen is a Summerville native and will begin his senior year at Ashley Ridge High School this fall. After graduation, he plans to pursue a degree in Construction Management, and we’re excited to give him the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the commercial construction industry.

Outside of school and work, Owen enjoys swimming and powerlifting.

We’re glad to have Owen on the G+L team this summer and look forward to watching him learn, grow, and build toward his future in construction.

Progress continues at the AMH N Maple Amenity Center in The Meadows. 🚧

Work is moving forward on this new amenity center and pool area, which will provide residents with a dedicated space to gather, relax, and enjoy the community.

These latest photos offer a look at the construction progress taking place on site as the vision shown in the project renderings continues to take shape.

We appreciate the efforts of everyone involved and look forward to sharing more milestones as construction advances. 🏗️🏊‍♂️

GLC recently completed a renovation project for Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Cross County Road in North Charleston.

This project transformed a former shop and storage area into additional office space to better support the needs of their growing branch. The updated layout gives their team more functional workspace while making better use of the existing building footprint.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to help bring this space to completion and support another growing business in the Lowcountry.

Yesterday, we were proud to celebrate a major milestone at Bonaire Park with the project’s Topping Out event.

A topping out ceremony marks the placement of the final structural beam or highest point of a building’s frame. In construction, it represents an important step forward and a moment to recognize the progress made by everyone helping bring the project to life.

For Bonaire Park, this milestone is a meaningful one. It reflects the hard work of the crews on site, the coordination of many partners, and the continued momentum of a project that will become an important part of historic downtown Summerville.

We’re grateful to be part of it and proud to help mark this moment as the project continues to take shape.

Today at Bonaire Park, our team had the opportunity to host an on-site lunch and raffle for the crews as a small way to say thank you.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we brought everyone together for a catered lunch and a time of appreciation for the hard work taking place on this project each day. We’re grateful for the men and women on site who continue moving this project forward and showing up ready to work.

Good work deserves to be recognized, and we were glad to spend part of the day doing just that.

This is a special project for our team. Bonaire Park is set to become a meaningful addition to the fabric of historic Summerville, and we’re honored to help bring it to life.

Bonaire Park is a mixed-use development in the heart of historic downtown Summerville, designed to bring together luxury residences, retail, dining, and walkable community space in one thoughtfully planned setting. Centered around a pedestrian promenade and gathering areas, the project is designed to become a meaningful part of the downtown experience.

For our team, this is more than just another jobsite. It’s an opportunity to bring experience, care, and steady ex*****on to a project that so many people in the community are excited to see take shape.

🚧 PROJECT UPDATE: Progress continues on the new downtown pavilion at Short Central Avenue and West 2nd North Street.

Site preparation and foundation work are now underway as we get ready for the pavilion structure to begin taking shape. It’s exciting to see steady movement on a project that will create another dedicated gathering space for the Summerville community alongside Hutchinson Square.

As construction continues, local businesses in the Short Central area remain open and accessible. We encourage everyone to continue supporting the shops, restaurants, and businesses that make this part of downtown so special.

A look at what’s taking shape in The Meadows. 🚧

Construction is underway on the AMH N Maple Amenity Center, a new community space designed to serve residents with areas for gathering, recreation, and relaxation.
