The Old Dillon Inn traces its roots to the late 1800s, when it first served miners during the gold rush era. Over the decades it became the heart of the community, a gathering place for ranchers, ski workers, and locals alike. Its iconic mahogany bar, believed to date to the 1870s, made the journey from Fairplay to Dillon by train before owner Virgil Cox relocated the entire building to Silverthorne in 1961, one step ahead of the rising waters of Dillon Reservoir.

What a beautiful day to be in Summit County!
I had couple vehicles (‘17 + ‘20 Chevy 2500) that needed keys made on a job site. I ended up running diagnostics on another for rear camera and remote start not working. Then on to a 2024 Tacoma (push button start) to program a new fob & cut emg key. I resurrected this lock cylinder from a ‘02 Tundra that has over 300k miles on it and no keyless entry. So the key was used a lot! I re-bitted the key and rebuilt the lock cylinder.

Many of today's automobiles with a push button ignition have certain spots where the key FOB with a dead battery can be placed to start the vehicle. Some are in a certain spot in or near the cup holder, some are a slot in the dash, glove box or center console, and some are pressed against the start button itself. Learn where your key sensing spot is for your vehicle so you don't find yourself stranded and shelling out hundreds of dollars for an unnecessary tow! P.S. There's also a key hidden inside your fob that is used to open the door when the FOB battery dies. some are easy to find, and others like the Ford key in this picture require you to remove the back cover to reveal the emergency key inside. if you don't see a key hole on your driver side door there may be a protective cover you must remove first.
