This week, we were at the National Association of Tribal Historic Preservation Officers Conference & Sacred Places Summit in Albuquerque, NM!

The conference focuses on the importance of meaningful connections, collaborating to achieve shared goals, and creating positive outcomes for present and future generations of Tribal citizens and the broader community.

Thank you to the Pueblo of Acoma for hosting this year's conference and taking us on a tour of the Sky City Cultural Center and Haak'u Museum.

It was an honor to gather and learn from Tribal Nations, Tribal Historic Preservation Officers, and others in the field of heritage preservation.

Parametrix employee-owners don't just design active transportation systems; they also use and help maintain them! 🚲

Tyler Smithson recently attended the Bike Utah Summit in West Valley City. On his ride home, he stopped by a construction site on Jordan River Parkway and removed approximately 15 pounds of goathead along a 300-foot stretch.

He also noted that sunflowers were blooming where he had planted seeds in fall 2024! 🌻

Great work, Tyler! Thanks for helping create vibrant, sustainable communities.

NMDOT, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, is conducting a corridor study for the proposed extension of NM Highway 347, also known as Paseo del Volcán.

The study area includes a 7-mile stretch on the northwestern side of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho in Sandoval County.

In this rural area, many residents rely on unpaved dirt roads to reach their homes. This extension will create a reliable connection, making it easier to access jobs, schools, and other services.

Parametrix is partnering with NMDOT on the study and design.

The study was completed in late 2025, and design is currently underway. The design consists of a new two-lane roadway, drainage improvements, new intersections, and potential pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
