First off let me thank all of our long time pool service customers for the understanding and patience throughout this past summer and fall as we navigated the life change of a stroke. We appreciate everyone working with us to help us thru the challenging time.

We had to make some difficult decisions and trim our regular maintenance customer base to allow the time needed for caregiving duties.

As the summer months approaching we announce a new program for southern pool service. This year we will be focusing on maintaining our regular customer pools and a repair program for all equipment.

Nighttime temperatures in south Mississippi continue to be quite cold. Prolonged exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees can result in damage to pipes, filters, and pumps. To minimize this risk, it is suggested to continue operating pool pumps until the cold weather has passed. The world we live in is often misguided by the world around us. I watched my mom die a slow painful death for two years. I spent many days sitting by her bedside seeing her smile and just feeling the love she had for me. I watched her cry wanting to take care of me like she always had. I help her hand so she could squeeze my hand while she hurt. I cooked her food and took it to her bedside. I even fed her when she was too weak to lift her arm to feed herself. My kids never met their grandmother ever. All they have ever seen of her is pictures because I was 13 when she got sick and 15 when she died. My mom was my best friend and all I ever needed to survive.

Fast forward to 30 years old. I got a call at 430 am one morning that my dad was passing away. I lived 400 miles away and before I could get to him he was dead. I never got to tell him goodbye or that I loved him before his eyes closed for the last time. My dad only saw my oldest son a few times and my youngest son never met his grandfather. All they know of him is what I tell them.

Fast forward to 55 years old. I woke up on a Sunday morning at 11am. By 12pm my wife for the last 22 years was so close to death it was unreal to imagine. Thanks however to Gods intervention by placing all the right doctors, nurses and medical personnel around her at the right moments she is alive still. She can talk, argue, fuss and complain but she cannot walk, dress herself or anything that requires physical movements. Am I thankful that God gave us a second chance to live out our lives together well the answer is yes.

With all that said it is so important to not allow the world to predict your life but to predict your own by knowing who God put in your life to make you who you are, love you unconditionally and be there for you when you need someone. Never take for granted tomorrow and never put off the moment of today for tomorrow.

33years ago God gave time the job and task of being dad to a little boy. His name is Dillon Long. I have watched him grow into a dad and become a son that any dad would be honored to call son.

25 years ago I was once again given the title of dad to a second son Dawson Long. This son was 6 months old and I had an illness that changed my life totally. It caused me to be paralyzed for almost two years. I know he don’t remember any of the details of the period but he and I learned to walk side by side. He is also a son any man would be proud of.

Then years later I was given the task of pawpaw to a little boy Landen Shows. He too is one for the record books. He follows me everywhere and once again is a boy any man would be proud to call son.

It is almost Father’s Day 2024 and as I sit and think I have been blessed to be a dad and pawpaw to all three of these boys to men. I have several other grand kids as well that God has blessed me with that just add to the legacy of a dad.

My sweetheart Emilia Harper Ray (Harper)
My darling Rylee Claire Long (Rylee Bug)
Two other Grandsons
My Rhyatt Charles Long (Rowdy Rhyatt)
My Karter Man (nickname not chosen yet)

So on Father’s Day I don’t look to reflect on my dad being passed but the legacy my dad left on earth. If you are a proud son realize your dad learned and taught the lessons to continue the legacy.

To all our current pool service customers
On Sunday 5/12/2024 my wife Angela Long had a severe stroke. She was so close to death that day. Thanks to the guidance of the lord the decisions were made that has allowed her to live. She is at St Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson Mississippi in the ICU unit in Critical but stable condition today 5/15/2024.

Due to the situation at hand we are not able to preform the service of pools or repair jobs of any kind till we have her out of ICU unit and in a regular room and firmly on the road to recovery.

I hope this is found as understandable by all and once the situation is sorted out and Angela is recovering we will return to normal operations.
