We test our evacuation alarm system on the third Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m.

Testing occurs for a total of 15 minutes and begins with four wail tone alarms that are approximately 30 seconds long.

On August 30, Cenovus will be conducting an emergency training exercise at the Superior Refinery. Exercises like this help us test and improve our response, while coordinating efforts with local services and enhancing the safety of the public and our workers. As part of the exercise, people may see emergency vehicles responding with lights on.

This week, we sponsored Northland K9 Foundation’s annual Operation K-9 event, where we were recognized for our ongoing partnership with the foundation and our recent support of the Superior Police Department’s newest team member – Atlas the German Shepard.

The event featured K-9s from five law enforcement agencies with live demonstrations and opportunities to meet the K-9s and their handlers. This is the second year that the refinery has sponsored the event.
