After months of cutting and what seemed like endless sanding and finishing, we finally finished up a big project at the Eshquaguma Country Club in Gilbert, MN for one of our favorite contractors, Lakehead Constructors. We fabricated all of the dark colored ceiling beams, crown, wall trim, fireplace mantle, window (even got to make up an oval) and door trim from stained clear Alder. The other rooms all have the same trim and ceiling details, just painted white.

Here's some pics of a pretty cool project we just finished up after 6 months of work. The old Dugout Bar here in Superior, which was closed for many many years, is now The Port Town Tavern. We repaired and refinished the old iconic back bar and brought it back to like new condition. We removed the original mahogany bar top, brought it back to the shop to strip old paint and repair some damage. We left some of the old marks and burns in the bar top for character and built a whole new base to go under the old top. We also fabricated and finished all of the tables to match the old back bar. A beautiful new place that has retained much of it's 100 year old character.

Here's a couple of sections of built in wall cabinetry we just finished up for one of our customers just in time for the holidays. Everything was made from mahogany stained red oak to match their existing kitchen and house trim. One set of deep cabinetry for a pantry area in the kitchen and w 10 foot long shallow wall unit for the adjoining living room.

Here's a few shots of a birch vanity and linen cabinet we just finished up. Nothing too fancy, just a clean and simple look. We had to angle the end cabinet to match an adjoining angled wall.

Here's a few shots of the crowning touch we just put on our latest kitchen. The owner asked for a hidden doorway to her home office which is right off of the main kitchen. The end result looks exactly like a set of cabinets when it's closed up. And from the office side, looks like a normal door. It's always fun to work on something a bit different from time to time.

Here's some pretty drastic before and after pics of an awesome MCM walnut kitchen we just finished up. This kitchen has a massive island with hidden cabinetry on the seating side and pop up outlets that blend in with the countertop. In one corner there's a big lift up door that hides all of the small appliances. All dressed up with beautiful book matched walnut. And of course, it's all finished off with an awesome tile job from Joe at J Utyro Finishes. Now we are off to build some matching cabinetry and a fireplace surround in the adjoining living room, as well as brand new cabinetry for a master bath remodel. Plus we will be adding a hidden doorway that blends in with all of the cabinetry.........

It took quite a while, but we finally finished up one of my all time favorite kitchens. Now it's just waiting for my master tile guy to finish the masterpiece. After years of white and gray kitchens, we finally had clients that were willing to take a chance with colors and materials. It's kinda hard to tell from the pics but we started with rustic alder, then applied several coats of blueberry milk paint, then distressed all of the corners and edges, washed it all with a black stain and then finally a clear coat. When the sun hits it, it looks like a dark blue/eggplant color and really pops with the custom fabricated walnut counter tops. We also hid all of the light switches and outlets on the log wall in the bottoms of the cabinets, so they can't be seen.

Here's a few shots of a 14' wall unit we just finished up for a customers dining room. It's red oak with a dark burgundy/almost black finish, with touch-to-open doors on the bottom, and tons of adjustable shelving above. All finished to match the adjoining kitchen and buffet that we built for them a few years back.
