Pine straw and mulch both insulate planting beds, retain moisture, and suppress weeds, but they behave differently on coastal properties.

Pine straw is lighter, allows more water pe*******on, and works especially well in beds with ornamental grasses and native coastal plantings.

Bark mulch is denser, breaks down more slowly, and holds up better in high-traffic or high-visibility areas.
