Help the Myrtle Beach Fire Department raise money for local charities!
Grand Strand Brewing Co. is giving back to the local fire community with the Jobtown red ale. Come out and meet local heroes this Thursday, June 11, at Grand Strand Brewing Co., 819 North Kings Highway. For every Jobtown beer sold, 20% is donated to the Joe Tamney and Burned Children’s Funds! Drop by for cold beer, good food raffles and family from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Proceeds from the Jobtown beer sales continue while supplies last.
The Joe Tamney Fund is a charity that gives financial assistance to firefighters and their families facing hardships. The fund is managed by the Myrtle Beach Professional Firefighters Association, though the organization assists firefighters throughout the state. The Joe Tamney fund helps firefighters dealing with mental health issues, the death of spouse or child, terminal illness of a family member, or loss of home due to fire or natural disaster.
The South Carolina Burned Children’s Fund is a charity organization that supports the recovery of burn injured children and their families. The fund provides burn awareness, prevention, and community risk reduction initiatives. It assists burn centers, medical facilities, and care providers to improve burn care for children and firefighters in South Carolina. Every summer, the organization coordinates a cost-free weeklong burn camp for the children, called Camp ‘Can Do’
