Sometimes the job that should be a walk in the park is filled with more drama than necessary. The number of mechanical issues would be comical if I wasn't the one dealing with them. And while I had one really awful person ruin my day by stealing my chains on the day I needed to load up the skidsteer and take it to the shop to get fixed, I really love George and Andrew at Central Equipment in Central Point, because they bent over backwards to get me back to work the next day. And I would be remis if I didn't say thank you for the windshield repair at A1 Auto Glass in Roseburg. These two experiences have renewed my faith in people!

Got a couple of seed orchards mowed outside of Estacada this week. Both orchards were surrounded by a catastrophic fire from 2020. But, because the Forest Service has been prioritizing maintenance in these orchards, there were only a couple of orchard trees that succumbed to the flames. The amount of historic science and critical seed growing infrastructure located in these orchards is fascinating to this self-identifying tree nerd.

Doing a little watering pad facelift. This trough system had failed and was leaking, making a muddy mess for the cattle and sheep to water. Scraped the muck, leveled the pad and removed broken lines. Next week is re-install of pipe and troughs.

The cattle came to supervise the operation today.
