You might be tired of hearing us say this but 🗣🗣 keep watering 🗣🗣 It is hot & dry and if your lawn was recently seeded, it is THIRSTY!! Weather-wise, 2024 has been a wild ride...and it's not over yet 🎢

PHL dry streak update: As of the end of Tuesday, Philadelphia is now at 24 consecutive days without measurable rainfall. By the end of today, it'll be 25 days. That'll be the longest streak since 2001. By the end of tomorrow, it'll be the longest streak since 1963. Philadelphia's all time station record of 29 consecutive days will be broken if no measurable rain falls through the end of Monday, October 28th.

In case anyone is looking at their grass and wondering 🤔 what's going on......this is the driest May on record! If you're not watering at least 1" per week, your grass is suffering right now!

Has it seemed unusually dry lately? If you think it has, you would be correct! These are the top 10 driest months of May on record at Philadelphia (records back to 1872).

***Note that 3 days remain in May 2023, but rain is not in the forecast, therefore we expect to eclipse the record of 0.47" set in May 1964.
