According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires. Followed by Christmas Day, Christmas Eve, and the day before Thanksgiving. Unattended cooking is the #1 cause of these kitchen fires. Be sure to check and replace your smoke detector batteries and it's always a good idea to have a fire extinguisher๐งฏ on hand.
