So apparently somebody decided it was a good idea to put Shawni behind the wheel of a racecar! 😂🏎️🏁
But the reason she's getting behind that wheel means much more to her.
She's proud to be driving in support of David's Refuge, an organization that pours into parents and caregivers of children with special needs and life-threatening medical conditions. These are people who spend so much of their lives caring for someone they love, and David's Refuge makes sure someone is caring for them, too. Their message to caregivers is simple but powerful: You are not alone. What you do matters.
She also wants to be thoughtful about asking people to give right now. She knows what groceries cost. She knows what utilities cost. She knows families are working hard just to keep up with everyday life. So she is not interested in making anyone feel guilty because donating isn't in the budget. If you can give, she would be incredibly grateful for your support. No amount is too small. If you can't, sharing this post and helping her spread the word about David's Refuge matters too. ❤️
And she's making a special call to fellow business owners and community leaders: if business has been good to us, this is one of those opportunities to be good to the community that supports us.
So on race day, she's putting on the helmet, getting behind the wheel and driving for the caregivers who spend every day showing up for somebody else.
