Excited to announce we now have Washington’s newest journey level electrician working here at Tacoma Electric Service!
Liv has been hitting the books harder than anyone I know and took the test for the first time this morning and passed, a test a majority of people do not pass their first time around.
Am very proud of her, it’s been a long three years and this is well deserved. Can’t wait to see her killing it in field with an apprentice of her own. (She’ll always be my apprentice though)

One of the coolest things about the work I do is that I get to meet some of the coolest pups in Tacoma.
That will be especially important to me for the foreseeable future as today’s the day I had to let mine go.
Hold your pups close
And if you’re having us out and your fur babies are friendly, let us get some pets in.
My baby Luigi was a good one, he never judged me when I came home smelling of other dogs.

Here we are.
This is the Tacoma Electric Service going into 2025. 2024 has been a trying time for me personally, but going into the new year with some solid people by my side.
I just wanted to give a shout out to the crew from left to right.
Melissa, I somehow talked her into coming to work in the office at the beginning of the year, she kills it. She answers the phones, schedules everything, pulls permits, deals with administrative headaches, as well as keeping me in check and making sure I take care of business and more importantly myself. Thank you for your dedication Melissa, I likely would have given up without you.

Me.. who cares

Brian, he came to work with me in the summertime, he had been at his previous company for 6-7 years through multiple owners. He was ready for something new, so he came to work with us and I’d like to think he is much happier here. He goes above and beyond, and makes sure the job is done to the best of his abilities. Thank you Brian for taking a chance with me.

Aden, well he started with us this week, he has been off work for months because of an injury, finally was cleared for work last Friday and joined us Monday morning. Aden was what we call pigeon holed with his previous employment and I can tell from our conversations he is so excited to learn how interesting and diverse the electrical trade can be.

Liv, I can’t speak highly enough about Liv, a true gosh dang prodigy. It’s like every month or so she has a major test at school and always thinks she will fail, every single time she is either the highest score or in the top 3. She has changed the way I think of doing jobs, changed the processes I would take. Truly makes the job more efficient and honestly a just makes them better from her joyful attitude to her willingness to do the dirty work. Thank you for everything you do Liv.

Happy Labor Day to everyone, hope you were able to have the day off (you deserve it) and have a good three day weekend. I just came back from a two week long road trip and am getting back to work tomorrow!
But just wanted to pop in here to say that as of yesterday, we have been officially operational for two whole years. Which is pretty wild to me because I never even had aspirations of running a business, or being even being a “boss”.
But it’s been a good (and rough) time so far and things are only going to get better as we continue to keep moving forward.

A couple of cool stats
We have started and completed ~350 jobs
19 WHOLE home rewires
Replaced ~60 main panels
Have 81 google reviews. All of which are 5 stars

This is me.
I’m tired, exhausted, and have struggled a lot in the past year. I started working towards Tacoma Electric Service ~18 months ago with the hopes of a more comfortable life, it’s been anything but comfortable. I’ll get there one day, but I am happy with where I am.
If you’re reading this and are waiting to hear back from me, I’m sorry. Ive been running every part of this business myself (except my CPA), it’s worn me out, and made my communication a struggle. I’m in the process of hiring someone right now to help with different aspects of the behind the scenes of the company.
So here’s to 2024, it’ll be the biggest year so far.

Picture is from a month or two on a job where Tacoma Electric Service was working along side and Hatch Paint & Construction. I’ve known most of the folks in the picture for almost half my life, and there we are, all working together with different companies that we own or work for. Very surreal moment for myself and the others I’m sure.
Today though! Today is Liv’s one year anniversary of starting with us here at TES, I had met her maybe a week or two before and through out the idea of being an apprentice. Now here she is a full year later, fully invested and going to school with the IBEW local 76. So proud of her and how far she’s come and how far I know she will go to be the best.
Thanks Liv and thank you everyone who trust us to work in your home.
(Tell Liv how awesome she is, she’ll be embarrassed, but it’ll make her day)
