The Muscogee Nation Conservation District will host the Small Farms Conference: Farmer to Farmer on Friday, May 3 in Okmulgee. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. It will feature three sessions with multiple speakers who will discuss local farming and youth agriculture.

Shout out to ElephantRock GardenSupply for their partnership and donation today! They dropped off some organic fertilizer and several rolls of w**d barrier today for our Big Event projects! We appreciate your support!

We always appreciate the work volunteers do for Northeastern State University Big Event, but today’s group from the Women’s Basketball Team went above and beyond! For the first time in 5 years, we completed all of the projects in our list! Our site is HARD work, so want to be sure everyone knows they really put in some manual labor for 2.5 hours straight and did it with smiles on their faces! Wado/Mvto/Thank you! Projects included:
-Building/repairing fence around the garden
-Weeding and putting in about 809 ft of w**d barrier, which required maneuvering around existing plants and carrying brick to secure it
- Moving/turning our compost pile - probably 4 ft tall and 5/6 ft wide

*also pictured are two of our youngest gardeners who also work very hard every season!
