The Red Hills Small Farm Alliance Online Farmers Market connects residents with fresh food grown or produced at within a 100-mile radius of Tallahassee. All products come directly from the farm or producer to you.

The weekly order window is from 8:00 am Sunday through 6 am Tuesday. Deliveries are made on Thursdays. Annual membership is $50. You will only be charged after you complete your first order.

My condolences to everyone on the internet who has a bunch of split tomatoes on the vine after all this rain.

The best way to prevent the heartache of split tomatoes is to pick them when they start blushing. Zero of my tomatoes picked at this stage are splitting indoors.

The best time to clip your basil is when…

1. You want it to branch out.*
2. It starts to flower.
3. The top leaves begin to wrinkle.**
4. You want to EAT IT!

*Where to cut is circled in the video. This pruning method turns that one stem into two. The gift that keeps on giving.

*Wrinkled leaves at the top of your basil are an indicator your plant may have whiteflies. Check the underside of the leaves and snip snip.
