We love plants and our community!

At Weems Memorial Hospital in Apalachicola, we continue to make great strides in our partnership by continually enhancing our GIP room at the hospital. As part of our upgrade efforts, we were fortunate to connect with Ashley Jordan, owner of Green Acres Landscape Management, who generously donated and planted a young bottle brush tree outside of the GIP room. This beautiful new addition is the start of something symbolic, reminding us that the smallest act of kindness can grow into something much larger.

This tree will not only offer more privacy to patients who utilize that room for emergent care, but will also attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and a variety of nesting birds, which will bring a little beauty to the day and helps us strengthen our focus on quality of life.

Ashley shared that β€œplanting this tree is part of the grieving process in her own life, as hospice has touched her family.”

We are grateful for community partners like Ashley who believe in our mission and help us inspire hope, one family at a time.
