🚽 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗜𝘁, 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗜𝘁

Here is a pest fact that will change how you deal with roaches. If you kill a cockroach, do not just toss it in the trash. Females may be carrying an egg case, called an ootheca, that holds dozens of eggs, and it can still hatch even after she is gone.

Drop her in the kitchen bin and you might be starting a whole new generation right inside your home. Flushing is the safer bet.

Better yet, if you are seeing roaches often enough to be squishing them, there is a bigger issue nearby. Let's find the source and shut it down for good.

Name: Hagen Charbonneau

Meet Hagen, one of the youngest members of the Capital City Pest Control crew! Hagen helps keep things lively around the office. While he's busy with school most days, he occasionally stops by to lend a helping hand (or just run around and keep everyone on their toes!). He may be one of our smallest helpers, but believe it or not, he's not the littlest!

When Hagen isn't at school or visiting the office, you can usually find him outside jumping on his trampoline, working on puzzles, or playing with his Paw Patrol toys. He loves riding around the property looking for big banana spiders in the trees and catching lizards and frogs. Grasshoppers, though? He's not quite as big of a fan!

If you ever see Hagen around, be sure to say hello! Just like his dad, Travis, he's never met a stranger and will happily talk your ear off! 💚

Up north, mosquitoes fade with the first cold snap. Here in North Florida, our mild fall keeps them buzzing well into the season, and every rain shower refills their breeding grounds.

Carpenter ants love our wooded, canopy heavy Tallahassee, and they are experts at using your landscaping to get indoors. Any tree limb, shrub, or vine touching your house is a bridge they will happily cross.

Once inside, they tunnel into damp or damaged wood to nest, quietly weakening the structure over time. You might notice large black ants indoors or little piles of what looks like sawdust.

Trimming branches back from the roof and walls removes that easy path in. Seeing big ants inside? Let's find the nest and cut off their route.

That fresh layer of mulch and the leaves piling up along your foundation might look tidy, but to roaches they are a five star resort. Moist, dark, and full of hiding spots right against your house, it is exactly where they want to be.

Once they are thriving inches from your walls, it is a short trip inside through any little gap. Fall leaf buildup only makes it worse.

Keep mulch a few inches off the foundation, clear leaf debris regularly, and let things dry out. Roaches setting up camp by your walls? We can push them back outside where they belong.
