Which Pests Are Attracted to Water?
Most pests are naturally drawn to convenient water sources, which is why leaky plumbing offers the perfect location for them. However, there are a few pests that are particularly invasive once they discover a water supply, such as:

▪️Silverfish
▪️Cockroaches
▪️Rats/Mice
▪️Carpenter Ants
While this is not an all-encompassing list, these pests can grow in numbers quite quickly, given the proper environment.
You should always stay on alert for pests once you discover a leak in your home’s plumbing system to minimize both the size of the infestation and damages.
Water-loving pests can cause some serious damage to your home if the infestation is left untreated. These uninvited guests can leave behind damages such as bite marks on furniture, damage to curtains, and holes throughout your home.
How Can I Keep Pests Out of My Plumbing?
The good news is that pest-infested plumbing can be easily avoided with correct maintenance and care! It’s crucial to schedule regular drain cleanings to remove all built-up bacteria (another attraction for pests!).
Make sure any openings around pipes are sealed. Pests are small in nature and can squeeze through the tiniest of cracks or gaps!
