Since everyone has been asking… here's how mom propagates her grass jelly plant (Cyclea barbata)! 🌿✂️
It's surprisingly easy. Just take a healthy cutting, plant it in soil, keep it watered, and before long you'll have a brand-new grass jelly plant.
💡 Fun fact: The green grass jelly we make comes from Cyclea barbata. It's different from black grass jelly, which is traditionally made from another plant called Mesona chinensis.
⚠️ One important warning though: Cyclea barbata grows very vigorously and can become invasive in warm climates. If you decide to grow it, we highly recommend keeping it in a container or an area where you can manage its spread.
It's an amazing plant to grow if you enjoy making homemade grass jelly but definitely one you'll want to keep an eye on!
