On Friday new laws in Florida were passed that affect homeowners and their insurance policies. If you have been denied your claim or told that if on a claim you had prior to the hurricane that you now have to pay the hurricane deductible, please contact a lawyer! We work closely with the Serrano Cagan & Cagan Law Firm and there are many other firms that can help you. You do not have to accept your insurance’s decision. It is your right to fight for a legitimate settlement that will cover your losses.

Central Homes Roofing and Solar has been in business since 1986 and we are invested in the communities in which we live throughout Central Florida.

I want to tell you that I completely understand your hesitancy and to remind you of a few safety precautions when choosing providers:

• Make sure that whomever you are talking to can provide you with a current active license to do business in the state of Florida and that they are bonded and insured.

• Be wary of companies that have come in from out of state; once the work is over, they will be gone and chances are, they won’t be back to honor any warranty.

• Ask every company you speak to for references; Google them, check them out on the Better Business Bureau website and if you feel uncomfortable, say so. Do your due diligence, that is your right as a consumer.

• Know your rights as a homeowner: Do not allow your insurance to intimidate you or make you feel as though you will no longer be covered if you make a claim. YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY IS FORBIDDEN BY LAW TO DROP YOU because of a claim for damage.

Finally, remember that there are so many people who have experienced damage throughout Florida, and it may take longer than usual to get the necessary repairs. We understand the frustration and anxiety times like these can cause; we are Floridians and homeowners, ourselves. Please be patient and know that we will work diligently and as quickly as we can to assist as many homeowners as we can.
