Many people around Treasure Island were hit hard by Hurricanes Helene and Milton; homeowners, renters, and landlords all felt the impact. If you’re still dealing with the aftermath, you should check out Pinellas County Government's People First Hurricane Recovery Grants. Many people haven’t heard about them yet.

Next Tuesday, April 7, the county’s recovery team will bring case managers to City Hall to help folks apply in person. They’ll be set up in the lobby at 1045 Gulf Blvd. from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

These grants can assist with repairing or rebuilding your home (or rental property), purchasing a new place outside the flood zone, or getting reimbursed for other storm-related losses. Awards range from $15,000 to $375,000. You can still qualify even if you’ve already filed with insurance, FEMA, or other programs, as long as you meet the income guidelines and have unmet needs.
