We recently did a gorgeous property in Harbor Island, Tampa. It is so apparent and stark comparing true frameless glass railing to metal picket railings. You can see the enclosed feel, and the color of the paint dulling and accumulating salt from the ocean air. Often we have customers ask if glass will be a maintenance issue and we always say, clean as much as you would clean your house exterior glass, and if that’s too often, coat it with a nano coating and it was stay cleaner for longer. But the main difference is, when it’s clean it looks brand new again, whereas steel and aluminum railings and cable railing will fade, discolor, and need physical maintenance over the shorter life of the system.
