Utility Service Corporation is a group of engineers and technicians providing electrical testing and maintenance services for electrical power systems and apparatus for over 40 years. We provide acceptance testing of newly installed power systems and apparatus before energizing to ensure that the installation and equipment comply with specifications and intended use, as well as regulatory and safe

ty requirements. As a nationally recognized independent testing laboratory, we feel that our organization best supports the interest of the owner in determining the long term usage of electrical apparatus and its suitability for the intended purpose. This consensus is born out by Federal Regulations: Title 29 CFR 1910 entitled "Electrical Safety-Related Work Practices," which stipulate that independent testing laboratories perform testing on equipment to be used in work places. We provide preventative maintenance services on all types of high and low voltage apparatus to assure safe, reliable operation of electric power systems. Analysis and correction of problem areas minimize equipment downtime and in many cases prevent down-time altogether, resulting in significant savings to the owner. USC specializes in Utility Substations, but also is very experienced in Industrial and commercial power applications and problem solving. Technicians are trained to and Certified to the ANSI ETT-2015 and NETA test technician standards. All testing work is done to the NETA Acceptance or Maintenance standards, which are updated every four years, in absence of your companies testing standards.

USC Power Services celebrated 50 years of Powering Reliability from Grid to Ground today at our 2nd Annual Open House!

We were joined by many of our valued clients and friends today who helped us ring in 50 years with fellowship, excellent food, and the best company.

Jacob Schrimsher addressed the crowed and thanked them for helping make USC Power Services what it has become, and what we’re growing into!

Thomas Wire spoke about NFPA 70B and the NETA - InterNational Electrical Testing Association MTS and the importance of applying them when designing and implementing preventive maintenance plans.

We had a great day, and are looking forward to what the next 50 years bring!

Most companies have a relay bag. It lives with the test set. Shared. Picked over. Comes back three leads short and nobody knows where they went. Ours belong to the technician.

Our relay techs — and most of our lead technicians — get their own comprehensive lead set. Built in-house, color-coded, stacked, terminated for any relay they'll meet on any panel. It's theirs. It goes where they go.

It's not a normal thing to do. It costs real money and real hours to build these. We do it anyway, because a tech who's fighting his equipment isn't testing — he's improvising, and nobody's paying us to improvise.

Great catch here by NETA Level 2 Field Service Technician, Brandon Motes. USC Power Services was out at a client's site to troubleshoot faulty switchgear. This circuit breaker was tested after the fact to test for integrity. In this video, it is clear that there is burn tracking on the redboard, a visual indicator that it is failing the hipot testing.

Our recommendations were to repair the circuit breaker by replacing the faulty components and/or sending the breaker for rebuilding based on the customer's criticality requirements.
