To stay alert. To trust instinct. To move when the moment arrives.
This is the third adaptation in my jackrabbit series, a celebration of one of the Southwest’s most enduring symbols of resilience, intuition, and abundance. 🌼🐇

Four years of Clay Club 🤍
I’ve been teaching in some form since 2013, and the only time I stepped away was during the first year of the pandemic, when everything shut down. I spent that year working alone in my studio, and as much as I love making, ceramics isn’t meant to be solitary. I got lonely.
Somewhere in those long quiet days, I started dreaming about building a small, creative community of my own.
That dream became Clay Club.
Yesterday we celebrated four years. We gathered around the table making ikebana inspired arrangements in handmade pots, talking, laughing, creating together.
I don’t think I’ll ever get over how special that feels.
It’s life fuel. And I’m so grateful for every person who’s been part of it 🤍

Second in the jackrabbit portrait plate series is finished, and I’m feeling really energized by where this is going.
There’s something about giving these desert animals a formal portrait treatment that feels both a little serious and a little playful at the same time. The jackrabbit has become my starting point, but I keep thinking about who else gets their moment next: crows, coyotes, h***y toads, rattlesnakes, javelina, and black bears. Each one with their own presence, their own attitude, their own space on the wall.
I see jackrabbits almost every morning on my walks with my dogs, and they never stop amazing me. They’re so big and beautiful in person, somehow delicate and powerful at the same time, quietly moving through the desert like they completely belong to another world. I think that’s part of why I keep coming back to them.
I’m imagining a full series eventually. Like a gathered wall of portraits that feels like a strange little desert family album. It’s a fun shift for me, and a refreshing challenge to keep pushing the composition and personality in each piece.
More jackrabbits (and friends) coming soon. And thank you so much to everyone who purchased pieces last night!

I’ve been thinking a lot about forward motion.
about trusting your own pace, even when it’s fast, even when it’s messy
may this year take you somewhere unexpected and beautiful
