This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.

We are deeply grateful for their courage and for the freedoms their service helped protect. Today, and every day, we honor their memory and the lasting impact of their sacrifice.

The completion of major renovations to historic Cullum Hall at West Point - The U.S. Military Academy was celebrated this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by members of the Kokolakis team. Originally constructed between 1893 and 1898 through a gift from Maj. Gen. George W. Cullum, the hall was built to commemorate West Point graduates and “give elevation to the military profession.”

This complex and challenging restoration effort required extensive coordination and craftsmanship to preserve the building’s historic character while supporting improvements that will help protect West Point’s archival collections and history for generations to come. Kokolakis is honored to have played a role in preserving this important piece of history.

Throwing it back to our work delivering the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology at Stony Brook University, a 100,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art research facility completed on time and under budget more than a decade ago.

It’s exciting to see CEWIT still driving innovation today, including new AI initiatives like the Long Island Association’s AI Growth Academy, in collaboration with Stony Brook University and supported by Google.org

We’re proud to share that our President, Joseph Kokolakis, and his wife Anna have established The Anna and Joseph Kokolakis Endowed Fund for Climate and Sustainability at the Stony Brook University School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SoMAS).

The fund will support solutions-driven research, innovative education, and the integration of ethics and sustainability in marine and atmospheric sciences. The gift was made in honor of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, known globally as the “Green Patriarch” for his environmental leadership.

As a proud Stony Brook alumnus (’86), Joe has long believed in building projects that serve communities for generations, a commitment reflected both in his career and in supporting the next generation of environmental leadership.
