There's a first time for everything.... This is a retaining wall we've been working on. First one we've done and it is coming out very nicely. It sure is nice to dabble into new things once in a while. A few more caps to be cut and glued and it will be ready for years of service.

Took down a few small evergreen trees and pulled the stumps.... little bit of grading and some nice fresh composted loam...

Took down a few small evergreen trees and pulled the stumps.... little bit of grading and some nice fresh composted loam topped with fresh seed and starter fertilizer should carpet this area in just a few short weeks.

Here are a few before and after pictures of a backyard extension. There were very large stones in the ground which made grading difficult. A few areas were left bare of new loam to accommodate a swing set and play area as well as a firepit. None the less, I'm pretty sure the owners were happy with the results. Good quality loam...good seed... plenty of water and the right fertilizer are the key to a healthy lawn... This grass was planted in September of last year. These roots show just how well its doing.
