Irene Hunt: About 27 years ago, I visited my Uncle Donald Gale with my two toddlers. He gifted me with the pieces of this rocking horse he and his brother Eldon designed. He promised me that no child could rock it hard enough to tip it.

It rocked strong through all of our children and two grandkids - and never tipped. Decapitated a few years back, it's been in storage. But for my Christmas gift, Alan played carpenter/ veterinarian (carpentarian?) and breathed new life into it again for our latest grandsons. "Rocky" has yet to throw a child.
