I love this kind of stuff. We are a security systems provider in the upstate of SC. The hope with a security system if the occupants are home when someone breaks in is to prevent them from getting the drop on you. I would prefer a NFC or RFID tag to unlock and put some heavy duty foam in the cavity as to prevent any noise that loose ites would make. Keeping few pistols around the house that are loaded, safe from kids getting to them, and ready to go is the best way I think you can achieve the readiness state that is required in such scenarios.
