Truly novel ideas don’t really exist anymore, so I’m sure I’m not the first person to think of this, but binder clips work really well as clamps to hold small pieces together while glue dries.

This is a garden planter box I made from 50+ year old reclaimed redwood decking. The wood came out of a plumbing showroom and had been sitting in storage for 25+ years. Now it has flowers growing in it!
