DBL Landscaping More than landscaping, a partnership We learned that we could not be all things to all people. We really do know our customer. The little things matter to us too.

So to truly serve our customer, we first needed to know who they were. Simply put, our customer is someone who takes pride in managing their office or retail. We refer to jobs not by the property name, but by the first name of the property manager. Not only who they are, but what they like and don't like and how they want their property to look.

Right now our crews are out overseeding for clients who already approved the service this season.

For those of you watching your Bermuda go dormant, here’s what’s happening: cool-season seed is being applied so lawns stay green and dense through the winter instead of turning brown. In our Phoenix desert climate the timing, seed choice, and prep work make a big difference in how well it establishes and how clean the spring transition looks later.

If you missed this year’s window or want to plan ahead, fall overseeding for next year is the move. Happy to answer questions about the process, timing, or what to expect.

DBL's maintenance crews have been hard at work scalping turf across the Valley in preparation for fall overseeding season. 🍂

✂️ What is turf scalping?
Scalping involves cutting summer Bermuda grass down significantly to reduce existing growth and allow winter ryegrass seed to make better contact with the soil.

🌾 What should you expect?
During this transition, lawns may appear brown, patchy, or nearly bare. While it might not look pretty right now, this temporary change is an important step toward establishing a lush, green winter lawn.

💧 What's next?
Once overseeding begins, proper irrigation and time will help the new ryegrass germinate and establish itself.

At DBL, we're committed to keeping our clients informed through every stage of seasonal landscape maintenance.

A little patience now means greener landscapes ahead! 🌿
