Emerson Construction was recently presented the Outstanding Construction Award for 2025 from the Austin Area Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America. The award was for excellence in construction for building projects in the $2 million to $5 million range and was attained for the Wheatley and Edwards renovation projects.

The Temple Independent School District Board of Trustees was proud to recognize them at the Board Meeting last night.

The TISD Operations Department played a significant role in the success of the projects. By securing portables and moving students to temporary locations on both campuses, securing the asbestos abatement subcontractor, and assisting with the permitting process, Emerson was able to work through the school year unimpeded. This enabled Emerson to complete the project early and provide considerable cost savings back to the District.

For more than four decades, Ira has been an integral part of the Emerson family. His dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment helped shape our company and the culture we are proud of today. More importantly, he built lasting friendships, earned the respect of everyone around him, and made a difference in the lives of so many.

Ira, thank you for the legacy you've left behind. The relationships you've built, the knowledge you've shared, and the example you've set will continue to impact Emerson for years to come.

The Emerson Ladies had a great outing today walking the job site of the TISD Operations Center project!

We had a great time learning about the progress of the project and enjoyed a great lunch together. It was so nice to step away from the office, connect, and celebrate each other during Women in Construction Week.
