Structural HD is Hiring! We are looking for an experienced carpenter. ($25.00 - $37.00 per hour)

Structural HD is a design-build construction company focusing on Addition-Remodels and shoring & reinforcing of timber structures. We thrive on creative solutions and seeing our designs come to life. Structural HD works on varying projects from additions and remodels, frame to finish, and shoring and reinforcing.

The Carpenter produces general carpentry and site supervision for projects. The Carpenter works with the Project Manager, Designers, and the Estimator to implement field requirements of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Jobsite safety protocol
· Procurement of over-the-counter building materials
· Performs rough carpentry, finish carpentry, cabinet installation and including other duties on projects
· Manages all jobsite related activity including overseeing trades, project schedule, and communication with the homeowner
· Reviews the budget weekly for accuracy and makes recommendations for estimate adjustments
· Maintaining and organizing tools in trailer and garage/office

Qualifications:
· Five or more years in carpentry and construction
· Valid driver’s license

Essential Skills and Attributes:
· General carpentry skills including framing, quality finish cabinet installation, trim work, stairs etc.
· Ability to read and understand construction plans
· Excellent communication skills
· Safety Training
· Organization, cleanliness, and friendliness

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 - $37.00 per hour

Level or Straight?

When remodeling you are always balancing between level or straight. We did jack up and reinforce parts of the floor but with existing finished rooms still around us we decided to put down tapered sleepers to level the floor in the kitchen.

Ripping tapered sleepers take time but it is worth it, especially in kitchen and bathrooms.

Made up some railings for the living room. Box newels over steel posts as they are directly over the beams below. The deck railings can be seen from inside which are white composite rails with black balusters so we wanted to have a similar design on the inside.

If you are looking to get a project done this year, give us a call. From deck to bathrooms to additions. We had a larger project get pushed off due to some unfortunate news for a client.

We are a complete design/build company meaning we complete construction drawings and build the plans so we can jump on projects a little faster as we don't need to involve an outside firm for design.

I've always loved the look of the framing at this stage. Sometimes it feels like a shame to cover up a lot of hard work....

In between all the rainy days, we got started on the Bellevue addition! Adding a great room and master suite with a new deck.

Had to split the project into two due to zoning but looking to add a second floor on the garage too.

Looking forward to this one!

Found this snake today, stuck to the underside of the flashing tape. Not sure how he got so deep before getting stuck. Took a while but got him free. Then sealed up the gap that he got in with.
