If a contractor says they’ll cover or “waive” your deductible, that’s a red flag.

🚨 Improper Roof Installation Alert 🚨

I inspected a roof today where the shingles were nailed below the nail line — and some nails were even visible below the exposure.

That’s a big problem.

When nails aren’t placed in the manufacturer’s nail line:
❌ The shingle isn’t secured properly
❌ Wind resistance is drastically reduced
❌ Shingles can slide or blow off
❌ Water can pe*****te around exposed nail heads
❌ Manufacturer warranties can be voided

Every shingle — whether it’s from Atlas, GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed — has a clearly marked nail line for a reason. That’s the reinforced area designed to hold under wind and weather.

If nails are below the exposure and visible, that means: 👉 They missed the reinforced strip
👉 The shingle may not be fastened to the one below it
👉 You could be one strong storm away from leaks
