From a customer voicemail…We see this scenario play out quite often. The homeowner wants easy access using an electronic combo lock so they buy an electronic deadbolt. But they also have a key locking lever below the deadbolt and eventually, someone will lock that on their way out the door. Most people choose to leave all their keys at home since they have a combo lock, and that leaves them locked out. It’s smart to change the keyed lever to a closet lever to prevent this problem. It’s also smart, and recommended to all of our customers, that they have access to the physical key at all times just in case. Dead batteries are probably the most common failure point we see, but as long as you still carry a key, you don’t have to worry about that. It’s not the best photo, but yes, we made spare keys for this Audi A5. European cars can be difficult and we don’t do them often, but we do have the capability to do some of them. For some reason people assume they’re going to save huge money buying their own keys online. We will try to program them but we offer no guarantee of successful programming and we still charge the same regardless of outcome.

Think of it like taking your own steak to a restaurant, having them prepare it, and not wanting to pay because you don’t like the quality of the steak. It’s not their fault- you brought your own meat, right?

This customer provided two remotes they purchased online. We provided one from our source. Ours programmed and worked perfectly. His two programmed, but one of them had intermittent remote functions- sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn’t. We don’t have high hopes that that particular remote will last for a long time. The customer understood the issue, but was still very satisfied with the work. If we can help you, give us a call!

Don’t be fooled by the names. You have no idea what you’re going to get if you call the big kiosk name for a “locksmith”. Make sure the company you call is legitimate, and local.
