2024 is going out with a bang and lots of crazy weather is causing hardships. Please note the following If your home was affected by the recent storm or any future storms.
- sustained damage that causes water entry to the home must be addressed asap. (Insurance policies dictate the homeowner has the duty to mitigate any further damage by temporarily making/having repairs done to stop the water entry.)
- Hail damage does not have to addressed immediately. If no leaks are present after the hail event you are OK. You have a year to file an insurance claim from the date of the hail storm. Please have a reputable roofing contractor inspect the roof to determine if making an insurance claim is in your best interest.
- Be weary of door knockers and storm chasers. Look up reviews and utilize recommendations from neighbors, family or friends.
- If have made an insurance claim and they have denied coverage or the damage amount is less than your deductible, you still have options to dispute the claim.
