Seeds were sown last fall and this is the product of that! No watering, nothing! Of course we’ve had a great year for pollinator plants with all the rain we’ve had, but allowing plants to establish themselves more naturally is the best for root growth.

In partnership with the we are proud to announce the very first of its kind, a Native Texas Plants ONLY - Plant Sale!!

Where and When?

At the Greater Houston Environmental Summit, Friday, October 18th, 2024 from 8am-5pm

Why is it the first of its kind? Because:

•We seeded the plants ourselves
•We used compost that we made from food waste and yard waste we pick up
•The plastic 4” pots are all repurposed
•You can return the pot for recycling on our next plant sale

Expected inventory:

•Indian Blanket (Gaillardia pulchella)
•Blue Sage (Salvia farinacea)
•Phlox (Phlox drummondi)
•Moss Verbena (Verbena tenuisecta)
•Shasta Deisy (Chrysanthemum maximum)
•Scarlet Sage (Salvia coccinea)
•And MORE!!

Prices are $4 per 4” pot and we will sell out on a first come first serve.

Back in the day, before the internet. Many people followed tropical storms and hurricanes with their trusty Tracking Chart. KTRH passed these out every year at various places all over town. Sometimes people would drive to the station to get a chart or two.

This garden is almost ready! We actually re-landscaped the entire property and this was the very last phase of the project.
We are the example of what a circular economy looks like. On one hand we collect yard waste, and on the other hand we collect food waste and compostables. Not only does this save businesses money on paying two contractors to go to two different places (or two separate contractors coming to their place of business) but closes the loop on the economy.
A circular economic approach to our current society is what we need to get out of the climate crises and as a peaceful way of protesting the current system that only benefits the .01% of the population.
