Got tunnels in your lawn or a hole under your shed? Here’s what you might be dealing with.
Two common culprits around NW Ohio and SE Michigan are moles and groundhogs. Two animals, two different problems.
Moles: Raised tunnels, ridges, loose soil, and small dirt mounds throughout the lawn. Most of their time is spent underground looking for more food.
Groundhogs: Larger holes and burrows, often found around decks, sheds, foundations, retaining walls, and gardens. They cause significant damage by digging and feeding on plants.
If you think you might have a mole or groundhog issue, take a picture and post it in the comments. We’re happy to help identify the culprit.
