Havillah Shake began with an old shake mill and has grown into a full service custom wood supplier. From floor to beam, all of our wood is reclaimed or recycled, and most of our wood has a story. Because we frequently do our own demo work (we've torn down everything from old apple warehouses to a cardboard box factory to an old cathouse), we can usually tell you exactly where your reclaimed wood c

ame from. After a building has been demoed, we spend countless hours hand-pulling nails from boards so that we can transform the wood into your next project. Every single one of our boards, every piece of trim, every beam is hand-milled. We can match trim from any historical era and we can cut almost any shape, size, or quantity. Beyond just wood, we try to reuse or recycle every element from a demo project, including old wire, scraps, and other junk. We are proud to have contributed to both new construction and historical restorations with only sustainable, reclaimed materials. These projects look beautiful and have a significantly smaller environmental impact than projects completed with only new building materials.

We wanted our first post to be a tribute to the man who started it all, Phil Baker (June 5, 1943 - November 8, 2015). Without Phil, there would be no Havillah Shake, and our mission is to continue to operate the business in the way he would have wanted. Phil was a resource and active member of the community in the Okanogan, and whenever we make sawdust we think of him.
