We love working with locally sourced white Limestone Chop from Riverview Stone. This was a very steep slope that made it hard to access the heart of the backyard.

The size and the solid density of this native limestone created a lovely staircase and reinforced the slope as erosion control. The combination of limestone, compacted AB3, and KS River Gravel also directs water flow and helps diffuse heavy rain runoff.

So much flower power in one special place! We can't recommend Kansas Plant Farm, LLC. enough as one of our main suppliers of hard to find native and well adapted plants. Everbloom Flower Farm is teaming up and bringing their beautiful locally grown bouquets and handcrafted soaps to their plant sale this Saturday, June 1st 9-2. Make sure to stop by the Master Gardener Native Plant Sale from 9-2:30, as well!

It's a great weekend to find rare additions for the garden this grow season. 🌿

This is a before and after of a fun front yard project to work on in phases.

The Limestone Chop edging used is another one of Mike's favorite materials to work with. Also referred to as 6" Dover Grey. It's a native white limestone that has a naturally occuring uniform height chopped into various sizes that flow together so well.

Unlike soft yellow limestone that is still beautiful, but varies in shape, and decomposes overtime, the white limestone is an incredibly dense and solid stone excavated in the Olathe area. A single 1' ft plus piece can easily weigh 100lbs. Because of this it will last a lifetime and stay in place beautifully.

Our family business has made some changes this year with Lynsi taking a position at Kansas Plant Farm while maintaining a supportive role in our projects. Mike and Charles have been shining bright taking the reigns in the field. It's been a busy and beautiful spring! Here's some shots of a phase 3 project completed last week, along with after photos of phase 1 installed a few years ago.
