☀️ Our season is in full swing, and the crew has officially hit the road! 🚜⚡

While we've been busy tackling projects across the region, it's easy to forget that a few months ago we kicked off the season closer to home, taking care of local maintenance work and getting everything ready for a busy year ahead.

One thing our crew does a lot of? Digging holes. 😆 Whether it's locating utilities, placing pedestals, setting vaults, or making repairs, sometimes progress starts one shovel full at a time.

And if you look closely, you might just spot the man in charge getting in on the action, too! 👀

It may not be the glamorous side of fiber construction, but these smaller jobs and maintenance projects are what help keep networks running and communities connected.

💪 Crew Spotlight 💪

The equipment gets a lot of attention, but it's the people behind it that make the work happen.

From planning the route to navigating locates, utilities, weather, and everything else that comes with underground construction, our crew shows up every day ready to tackle the next challenge.

This video is a great reminder that laying fiber isn't just about getting from Point A to Point B. It takes skill, patience, precision, and a whole lot of experience to put infrastructure in the ground while leaving properties looking great when we're done.

We're proud of the work this team does and the communities they help connect.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Today is more than a long weekend — it’s a time to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

From all of us at Hidewood Fiber, we are incredibly grateful for those who served and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day as you spend time with family, friends, and your communities. ❤️🤍💙

Well… Minnesota officially said “no work without safety qualifications,” so what did we do?

We packed up the crew and sent them on a 3-day training getaway. 😎📚

The guys came back with new knowledge, new certifications, and are now officially qualified to perform telecommunications work in Minnesota! 💪

Safety has always been important to us, and while spending three days in training might not sound as exciting as being out in the field, investing in our crew and doing things the right way always comes first.

Huge shoutout to the team for putting in the time and effort — now let’s put that knowledge to work! ⚡

We took some time on Friday to get trained up in CPR, First Aid, and AED training — because safety always comes first! 💪

It’s always a good time with this group, even when we’re learning the serious stuff.

Huge shoutout to Hendricks Hometown Bakery for the morning sugar rush 🍩 and Toronto Cafe for keeping us fueled with pizza for lunch 🍕 — training is always better with good food!

And thank you to South Dakota NSC for putting on a great class for everyone, from beginners to those needing a refresher. We appreciate the knowledge and hands-on training!

After a full and successful summer in the field, the focus shifts to keeping our equipment in top shape — and welding is a huge part of that. 🔧

From worn parts to cracked brackets and everything in between, proper welding is essential to equipment maintenance. This setup gives us the ability to handle repairs, reinforcements, and custom fixes in-house, keeping our machines safe, strong, and ready for the next season.

Winter shop time means fixing what worked hard all summer and making sure everything is dialed in for what’s ahead. Solid welds today = fewer problems tomorrow. 💪

🥶 Negative temps are no joke — and South Dakota is definitely reminding us of that right now.

While the cold has us bundling up and staying indoors, we’re already looking ahead to warmer days and getting our season booked out. Spring will be here before we know it, and we’re getting ready to hit the ground running.
