Electrical safety tips for Thanksgiving:

• Inspect appliance cords for damage before use. If damaged, replace appliance to avoid possible serious shock or starting a fire

• Using countertop appliances? Make sure they’re plugged into GFCI outlets.

• Don’t plug large appliances (like refrigerators) into extension cords.

• Keep electrical cords away from high-traffic areas and avoid them dangling off counters within easy reach of children and pets.

• Consider using LED candles on the dinner table to avoid any potential hazards that open flames present.
