After investigating a client’s septic system issues, we found that their previous installer used SCH35 SDR plastic drain pipe that had crushed under the weight of the soil. Recently, a homeowner in Baltimore City called us to get a second opinion and verify a diagnosis from another company. The other plumber had told our customer that they needed a complete sewer replacement to the tune of $38,000. Our customer enlisted us to work up a second opinion...and we were able to save them $37,700!

Does this pipe look a little oval to you? That’s because it is! This is Orangeburg sewer piping dug up from a Baltimore home and is a typical specimen for its age. Believe it or not, this was one of the better sections we removed. Orangeburg piping needs replacement once problems start to appear.
