Our team is enjoying a well deserved 4-day weekend ahead of this Labor Day. In fact, shortly after the 4th of July rush, we introduced “optional Fridays”.

In this industry, especially in seasonal climates like ours here in Northern Michigan, as soon as the snow melts we rarely let the foot off the pedal to take a breath, with our field team regularly putting in 10+hr days. That doesn’t leave a lot of time (or energy) to enjoy this beautiful area we call home at its summertime prime.

Optional Fridays allows our team the choice to have that extra day to themselves. We know it’s easier to try to squeeze every hour of the week when our season is already a short one, but we have found wellbeing and enjoyment of all our area has to offer, is an important part of what we value. After all, we live in a pretty incredible place with so much to explore.

While plants spaced close together at the time of planting look beautiful, they end up crowding each other in the long term.
