Well today was another fine example of the Perks of Being a plumber, and the places it has taken me in life that I never imagined or even thought was possible! Walsh plumbing and other local contractors were invited to another Richmond water heater training.
We were told this is one of the only ones that they have held at a venue like Lambeau Field. So this was pretty special. We had our own suite to have our meeting and again the food was off the charts!
We did our few hours of class, had lunch and then took an hour tour through the whole stadium.
We first went to the marketing Suite, which is one of the I believe 168 different Suites that they have. It was located right above the alumni suite which is for former players. They skybox suites cost over $100,000 a year, and can be rented. The pricing is dynamic they said so they're at least that much. Lol. Then we went down to where the locker rooms were and we weren't allowed to go in there because of all the new technology they have. However we were allowed to walk through the very same tunnel that the players walk through on the way out to the field every game. As each player walked through they put two feet on the same cement that all the Champions walked on. They took the cement from the old stadium and put it into the new section so this could be achieved. So much more we got to learn about the field and how they maintain such an amazing facility. Totally mind blowing and out of this world. I've watched it on TV my whole life and dreamed of being a football player since I was able to throw a football. But I could have never imagined the scale of what the NFL truly is as a whole.
Probably the best part was to learn all of the history of Wisconsin, and Green Bay as a city, and to learn how it all started, and how much of it was influenced by the Indian packing co. Curly Lambeau, vince lombardi, the Packers and Wisconsin football. The stadium is the only one that still has bleachers, and they aren't heated. It truly is the frozen tundra, and Wisconsin people are a tough breed. If you ever get a chance to go there I highly recommend it! It was cool to see how it all ties together and how infinitely massive and important to our culture the game of football has become in this country. And to see how just a game has become ingrained in us all As Americans. This is what we do for fun.
And Wisconsin does it better than anyone along with many other unbelievably great products, inventions, foods, companies, and people our state has produced. Harley Davidson, Ringling brothers, Kohler, the typewriter, les paul guitars, cows, american motors, Milwaukee Tool, insinkerator, 🧀, milk, 🌽 beer, the bucks, brewers, and packers, etc.The list goes on forever Too many to list. Very thankful I got the opportunity to attend this meeting today! And I love my job! Thank you to all of our customers that buy water heaters!
