Yesterday we were back on site at the Aero1200 (formerly 1200 Stewart) project in Seattle, WA! The project honors Seattle’s aviation history with both its name and the full-sized Boeing 747 fuselage suspended within the building. Upon completion, the project will have residential rental homes, retail spaces, a galleria, and other gathering spaces.

Recently, we performed mock-up testing at the Central Lincoln People's Utility District (PUD) project! Our time onsite included FGIA / AAMA-accredited water pe*******on testing on the Kawneer Fixed window system. The new headquarters is being built to withstand extreme weather conditions, such as winter storms and a major earthquake.

Milestone alert! We recently completed our one thousandth (1-0-0-0-!) commercial air barrier test!!

QED LAB's 1000th test was completed at the Vancouver Waterfront Block 1 project in Vancouver, Washington, on Thursday, April 30, 2026. We performed the building prep during the day, and testing was performed after hours when trades had vacated. QED-owned equipment, including a blower door system with five fans, was used to pressurize the building for this test. The test included an enclosure area of 151,800 SF.

Mike Poirier, QED Vice President, said, “This is a MAJOR milestone. Thanks to literally everyone... it’s a team effort!”

Worried about testing in the winter weather? Take a look at our team last week, testing in 18˚ weather on the MSU: Mark & Robyn Jones College of Nursing Kalispell project! To ensure that everything ran smoothly, Swank Enterprises built warming huts around each specimen we tested. These huts kept our team warm and prevented water from freezing mid-test.
