Carver Tree Care

To my wonderful customers:

After working as an arborist for 15 years and with Jay [Gartlein] for 9, I've decided to move onto different endeavors. While I'm unsure what the future holds for Carver Tree Care, we will still be accepting some work within Trumansburg and the immediate vicinity for the remainder of the year.

This announcement is one filled with both joy and sadness. It has been an incredible gift for me to work for all of you for the last several years and I will miss the work and each of you dearly. I have loved working with you, working with Jay, and working as an arborist everyday, but I have found it increasingly difficult to balance the needs of a small business with those of my family.

For the next two years I will be pursuing an MPA at the Cornell Institute of Public Affairs. During that time I plan to keep my equipment and insurance current so that I can take on some work as an arborist, but even so my work load will be obviously constrained. My hope is that those of you looking for honest, friendly, and professional tree work will get in touch with Thompson Tree & Crane, a company run by our good friend Morgan Thompson, or Elmore Enterprises, another great Tburg area company.

As time goes on and I have more information about my schedule and availability, and what services I will be able to offer moving forward, I will post updates on my website (https://www.carvertreecare.com/services). There you will also be able to find my recommendations for other tree services to call based on your location and the type of work you need done - which I will do my best to update based on any feedback I receive.

Thank you all for working with us for all these years - whether we met while I worked for Tree Tops, S&S, or with Carver Tree Care - it has truly meant the world to me and I will miss you all dearly. With any luck I will be able to contrive some reason to see many of you over the coming year.

As an essential service CTC will be continuing to work through this crisis. However, it is also incumbent on us to do our part to "flatten the curve" and to protect ourselves, our customers, and our community at large. As such, we will be focusing our efforts on work that is truly essential and urgent - removing dangerous trees and limbs, risk assessments, etc - and postponing work that is considered elective - ornamental shaping, aesthetic-oriented pruning, etc.

In light of the financial strain that many are facing we are also postponing all payment deadlines until the end of the year and offering as much flexibility as we can to those in need. If you have a dangerous tree or any other tree related needs, please don’t hesitate to call because you won’t be able to pay right away, or at all. Being laid off shouldn't also mean you're in physical danger - give us a call (592-5599) and we'll figure out payment later.

On the other hand, if you’d like to sponsor essential tree work for an in need community member or support our business by pre-paying for work you’d like done down the road that would be great.
