What a year it’s been! Another successful year of self employment! I couldn’t do it without all of you!

2026 will bring some changes I wanted to make everyone aware of. It has been a long term goal of mine to go full time Firefighter/Paramedic. The last 2 years (while being self employed) I have applied at multiple Fire Service Locations in the Des Moines/Metro area with the end goal of working my dream job AND still utilize my trade skills on my off days.

With that being said, I’m excited to announce I have accepted a position and will be attending a year long academy starting next week! I will have to take a step back from larger jobs but will still work on little things here and there on the weekends, as I am able! For the bigger jobs, I do have contacts I can refer you to for the time being.

This opportunity has been a dream of mine for a long time and I am so thrilled to be able to continue chasing it. I truly appreciate everyone’s support! You all are why I do what I do! Being a first responder and getting to help people on their worst day gives me a purpose that can’t be replaced by electrical work. While electric is essential, so are Firefighters that are into the job and passionate in what they do.

Truro Fire and Rescue Association received a check for $11,753.85 to aid in the purchase of a refurbished Cascade Breathing Air System. The check was presented by GMCCF board member Pat Sullivan and received by Jake and Lindsey Rissi.
